TREKS AND LAND EXCURSIONS

Treck to Moolang waterfall
This trek is our main excursion and last four days. It brings you through
the rainforest to an incredible set of waterfalls lost in the mountains.
The departure point is only at 8 kms from our cottages. It takes two days
to get up there. The third day is spent exploring the different waterfalls
and you get back to the cottages on the fourth day. It is of course possible
to make the trip longer and to explore more further the forest. You will
walk along and through the river as well as inside the forest, sleep under
the tent. There is no major difficulty, no climbing, but some parts are
slippery and request carefull attention.
We provide an english speaking guide, porters, sleeping bags, tents, cooking
utilities and food. |

Other land excursions:
Kahumamaon tribes:
There are the original inhabitants of the area. They have a dispersed habitat
in the rainforest. You can spend one or 2 days in one of their home as a
base camp, and visit other small communities that are close by. You can
also go for a more extensive exploratory trip.
Nature walks:
There are various easy daily trips to some smaller waterfalls in the surroundings.
Kolo boat builder village:
This boat builder village is located about 3 hours by car from our place.
Almost each house has a boat in construction close by.
Caves:
They are numerous caves in the area. A team of French speleologists did
an extensive survey in 1999. Report available with caves location and description.
